Chocolate Sunday
reporter: Jonathan, 12.7.05
I'm planning on doing a post on Sunday soon but would like to understand what my readers think about Sunday.I'm going to steal Nathan's idea and do a little survey, so little that it only has one question! Please do not ruin this by commenting about other peoples answers. As I've said I will post on this topic soon and we can do that then.
Please just answer the question!
What is Sunday for?

If this is the one day in seven that is referred to in Scripture....then....
It is to be entirely devoted to the Lord. We are not to please ourselves, but aim at pleasing God.
My personal opinion is that this includes:-
a) Some form of worship with others if at all possible.
b) Refraining from work.
c) Refraining from making others work/break the Sabbath.
d) Service/Helping activities, for example looking after sick.
That's just from the top of my head right now. I'm sure there is more.

Can I be pedantic and ask that you link to the post that you refer to? Just makes it easier in twenty years, when I wonder how it was my idea.
Sunday, like any day, is a chance to glorify God.
It is different than the other days because we gather together to worship God, and it gives us an opportunity for rest. (Remember however, there are more important things than rest, e.g. Helping the needy)
Ironically, the fact that sunday is different often means it is not restful, as people become busy in order to fit all the sunday things in.

Sunday is a day of rest, it is also a day for worshiping God, and doing acts of mercy, nessessity and charity.

Phew I am glad to see that you have posted again was getting worried!
I'll start!
Sunday is for going to church but when church isn't on you fill your time with other activities like eating lunch (which may or may not have been brought from a store) and watching tv and hanging out with friends and family.
